Wisconsin gun deer hunting season is a tradition for many in the dairy state. The state even allows for youth to be mentored on an early gun hunt with an adult, which gives them a chance to harvest their first deer and get valuable experience to help keep them safer when the woods come alive with more hunters during the states nine day firearms season. Steve Jeffrey spends more time in the woods filming for other guys on the team than he gives himself to kill a buck with his bow. So, when the pre-rut of late October rolled around it was the first time Steve would go hunting for himself while self-filming the entire thing. This is his story.

Nolan Jeffrey is a is 10-years old at the time of this hunt as he joins his Dad, Steve Jeffrey, and good friend of the family, Mike Durian, in a blind in southeast Wisconsin. You can't make this stuff up, the excitement is real and a new passion has been naturally instilled in this young man.
